Manufactured in the UK at our Shropshire facility, Retainer-Rock® combines exceptional structural performance with a decorative face and fast installation, making it ideal for private, infrastructure, commercial, industrial and agricultural applications.
Moulded from solid concrete, the BIG modular design allows Retainer-Rock® units to be installed quickly and efficiently, reducing programme times while maintaining a robust, long-lasting structure. With either a natural rock-face cobblestone or a smooth-face Liscio modern finish, the system also offers an attractive appearance that is suitable for landscaped environments.
Retainer-Rock® has been designed for conformance to BS EN 15258.

Installation Overview
Foundation requirements depend on wall height, ground conditions, and loading. A structural engineer should assess and specify suitable foundations where required. A level, compacted base is typically required, with structural advice recommended for higher retained loads.
Retainer-Rock® can be used for both temporary and permanent installations, subject to design and engineering approval.
Retainer-Rock® walls can be built up to 4.5 m tall with standard single depth blocks of just 816 mm without the need for additional resource. Walls taller than 4.5 m in height may be achieved with additional engineering input.
Typical Loading Guidance
As with most modular block gravity retaining wall solutions, gravity walls rely on the mass of the concrete blocks to resist and hold back the pressure of the soil.
Retainer-Rock® works in a similar way but also has a tie rod jointing system that is easy to install and used only if ground conditions and/or height dictates. When tie rods are used the system becomes a cantilever type solution rather than just gravity.
This allows space-saving walls to be built up to 4.5 m tall with standard single depth blocks of just 816 mm without the need for additional resource. Walls taller than 4.5 m in height may be achieved with additional engineering input.
