Working closely with our neighbours is something we are proud of at Elite, which is why we use local suppliers, including our delivery partners, Shropshire Express Deliveries.
When online electrical retailer AO created its state-of-the-art new recycling centre in Telford, Elite Precast were thrilled to supply them Legato® interlocking concrete blocks. These were used to build material storage bays within the recycling facility.
Having recycled over eight million white products, turning waste into reusable materials and giving appliances a second life, the 100,000 sq ft operation now annually also recycles almost 4,000 tonnes of packaging.
In addition to this recycling centre there is also a uniquely designed plastics recycling facility, a few miles away in Stafford Park, that takes waste plastic from WEEE and turns it into high-quality plastics used in the manufacture of high-end, long-life products.
The ten bay Legato® walling structure helps with operational efficiency and the processing of materials. These Class A1 Fire-Resistant concrete blocks are also used within the organisation's Fire Prevention Plans, so help with the related safety standard regulations.
Owen Batham, Sales and Marketing Director, for Elite Precast Concrete said "its great to see our blocks being utilised locally. The initial investment in storage bay solutions pay dividends by preserving material integrity, streamlining operations and ultimately reducing overall costs" which all align with the principles of AO Recycling".
